Andy Smith

Art Director, John Carne Guildford

Andy has been Art Director for the John Carne Group for the past four years, working from the group’s flagship branch in Guildford. Andy has worked on international shoots and fashion shows around the world and, among other achievements, won the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy in 2004 and the Men’s Image Award in 2005. Andy has also done session styling and editorial work for publications including Vogue, Marie Claire, Glamour and Cosmopolitan as well as television work for Channel 4 and GMTV.

This broad experience has opened many doors for Andy, enabling him to work on high profile events such as London Fashion Week and the famous St. Martins College of Fashion Student Shows. Andy also loves arranging in-house photo shoots, where he has the opportunity to express his creativity and his passion for modern and classic cutting techniques, many of his collections have been published in the trade’s top publications.

Education is another area that Andy is heavily involved in and has a great passion for, he has worked on numerous large scale training events and seminars for Schwarzkopf Professional as well as taking a leading role in all in-salon training for the John Carne Group.

Andy is an Ambassador for International haircare company Schwarzkopf Professional.
