“Punk Chignon”

For the punk chignons, Palau blow-dried the hair into a low ponytail and then triple-taped it at the nape of the neck.  This gave it a spiky edge at the end with plenty of attitude.

It was a return to the highly stylised Eighties way of working, right back to the way they used to do things when he first started out.  

Guido Palau, global creative director for Redken and the hair stylist for Givenchy’s couture show in Paris loved these lacquered, bird-like creations.
